چکیده
The pfcrt gene is a biomarker to determine the resistance of Plasmodium falciparum chloroquine and amodiaquine. When was switched ACT, it very likely that there will be an increase in wild type strains (pfcrt K76) due absence exposure chloroquine. Currently has not used for malaria treatment. aims this study were identify polymorphisms phylogenetic analysis isolates from patients Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province. This research laboratory by analyzing blood samples which are stored biological materials (BBT). DNA isolation carried out using kit QIAmp Mini Qiagen, followed amplification appropriate primer. results sequencing then analyzed Mega 10. showed all had mutations codons 76 (K76T) 72 (C72S) gene. closely related other isolates. conclusion found PfCRT gene, although long been abandoned as antimalarial. sequenced pesawaran also

متن کاملThe Use of Crude Plasmodium falciparum Antigens for Comparison of Antibody Responses in Patients with Mild Malaria vs. Cerebral Malaria
Background: Cerebral malaria (CM) is one of the major causes of death in African populations infected with Plasmodium falciparum. Only 1% of infected subjects develop CM. The reasons for these differences are not fully understood, but it is likely that the host humoral response against blood-stage antigens plays a role in protection from malaria, although the precise targets and mechanisms medi...

background: this study investigated the association between pfcrt, t76 allele and chloroquine resistance in patients with falciparum malaria. molecular assays for point mutations on drugs resistance-related genes are applied tools for monitoring emerging resistance and surveillance malaria control strategies in endemic areas. the mutant genotype at codon 76 of plasmodium falciparum chloroquine ...
متن کاملDifferential var gene transcription in Plasmodium falciparum isolates from patients with cerebral malaria compared to hyperparasitaemia
The Plasmodium falciparum variant erythrocyte surface antigens known as PfEMP1, encoded by the var gene family, are thought to play a crucial role in malaria pathogenesis because they mediate adhesion to host cells and immuno-modulation. Var genes have been divided into three major groups (A, B and C) and two intermediate groups (B/A and B/C) on the basis of their genomic location and upstream ...
